Fall Finally: Fashion Edition

At least for the moment it is actually cool here! Can I get a heck ya??

I've bought a few items for fall already, but I've mostly held back because up until this weekend temperatures have still been into the 90's every single day.  I think temperatures will soar at least once more before I bring out my jeans and flats for good, but for the moment I'm soaking it up!

Flats are my shoe of choice for all of fall.  I do break out boots occasionally, but for me, flats are just so comfy, easy to throw on, and always look chic.  As an aficionado of flats, I of course love Tory Burch.  Have any of y'all hit up the Tory Burch Friends and Family sale? (Use code FRIENDS for 25% off and free shipping).  I was thrilled to learn that Nordstrom is simultaneously discounting all of their Tory items 25% as well!!  Since I had some Nordstrom notes to use, I picked up these beauties:

I've been hunting high and low for months now for the perfect nude flat and snagged these Vince Camuto nude flats last month.  They are relatively affordable and SO comfortable.  I also think they are the perfect nude color (not too tan and not too pink).  They go with everything!

Last night I paired them with this engineered striped boatneck top from J Crew for the Fun. concert with my hubby (sold out but I love this one).  It was our first date night in months btw!

Today they went great with this outfit for dropping Phillip at school and a little shopping date with my Mom at Nordies:

In the bargain department, have y'all seen these adorable quilted barn jackets and vests from Old Navy?? This tweed puffer vest is adorable too and only $40.

A few weeks back, when J Crew Factory had 40% off everything in store, I picked up this chambray dress (Factory is currently having 20% off all orders over $100 with code EXTRA20).  I love it but this one from Old Navy is pretty cute too!

J Crew Factory - on sale for $64.50

Old Navy - $34.94 but use code ONSAVE20 for 20% off.

Lately, I have been obsessed with the array of affordable accessories available on Etsy.  Last year I was so disappointed when I hesitated too long and missed out on the Missoni infinity scarf.  But, I found this scarf on Etsy that is so cheap and just as cute, IMO.

$30 from seller DesiLoop on Etsy.

So, tell me ladies... what trends are y'all loving for fall?  Also, I just recently upgraded to the new iPhone 5S (believe me not by choice... my old phone recently suffered a grievous injury at the hands of my adorable daughter!).  I'm looking for a cute cover that will not break the bank.  Any suggestions?

Fashion Friday: Lilly Sale and OOTD's

TGIF!!  Happy Friday and happy nap time.  I'm in need of some rest right now y'all and I'm afraid it's just not in the cards.

So, instead of rest, we will talk fashion.  I spent most of the last of my Christmas/Birthday shopping money at the Lilly Pulitzer sale going on right now.  If you haven't checked it out, you should because it ends tonight!  There are some amazing deals... I'm telling you, Lilly for Gap prices.

Here are the items I scored from the sale:

Davie Dress - I've been looking at this dress for a while and I think it is a really great classic silhouette that will be perfect for baby showers and spring weddings.

This is the somerset dress in punch pink.  I think these dresses are so flattering and easy and comfortable to throw on with sandals for a party or just for a day of shopping.

Cassie striped top.  I loved this top a few months ago when I first saw it but was NOT going to pay $80 for a t-shirt, even a really nice one!

They are running out of things fast, but I'm also pretty sure they added some things overnight too! I would have loved to get more, but I need to pace myself!

I did not get pictures of all of my outfits of the day this week, but I have a couple for you!

Outfit #1:  Try not to be too jealous of how fabulous my hair looks, ha!
Top: J Crew Keeper Chambray Shirt
Pants: J Crew Factory Skinny Jean in Poppy (currently on sale!!)
Shoes: Max Studio Gold Flats (old, but similar here)
Earrings: Kendra Scott Tavi Studs in Green

Outfit #2:
Top: J Crew Tortoise Button Sweatshirt in Turquoise (old, but similar here)
Pants: Lululemon Groove Pant (also known as the pants I wear every other day)

Outfit #3:
Dress: Old Navy Boat-Neck Striped Dress (currently on sale for $20!!)
Leggings: Forever 21 Ankle Length Leggings in Navy
Shoes: Steve Madden Leopard Print Flats (old, but similar here)
Necklace:Gift ( old, but similar here)

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Ours is packed way too full of get togethers, projects, and activities. Hopefully, there will be a little room for relaxation!

Fashion Friday: Holiday Clothes for Littles on a Budget

Happy Friday everyone!!! Y'all I am embarrassed to admit this, but it's time to get something off my chest: I am a baby clothes addict. There. I've said it, whew.  Feels so much better to have that out in the open :)

I really love sweet classic fashions for my littles, especially around holidays.  The best way I've discovered to keep my littles in the cutest clothes is to plan ahead.  If I have to shop last minute, I may find myself walking into a local boutique and paying $70 for an outfit and I just can't afford to be doing that!  If you can swing it, this is the best time of year to shop for kid's clothes.  I stock up now and in January for the whole next winter and get such a cute wardrobe for a song!

One great resource is consignment sales.  There is an amazing consignment sale here in Houston called Smockaholics Anonymous.  They hold it twice a year and I have found some pristine Kelly's Kids and other beautiful things for $15 an outfit.

My latest find is an online kids boutique called Smocked Overstocks.  I've already picked up three Christmas outfits as well as a Thanksgiving outfit for each little... matching of course!  Check out these finds, all for under $30 an outfit:

Thanksgiving matching longall and bishop dress.

Ornament embroidered dress and matching polo/corduroys.  Check out that cute ricrac!

This is a close up so you can see the quality of the embroidery.  This is hand smocked!

I'm a sucker for these little gators!

I plan to have the little jumper mongramed and mongram a white polo or tee to go with Phillip's pants.

Janie and Jack will be having their amazing twice a year sale in January and that is another place I stock up, especially for more casual play clothes.  It seems like you're spending a lot when you do all of your shopping twice a year, but at places like Janie and Jack you usually pay less than half of the normal prices.  RagsLand is another place to snap up deals this time a year.  They have great basics like corduroy and gingham pants for boys and little knit dresses for girls.  Ordinarily I think they're pretty overpriced, but this time of year you can pick up pants for cheaper than it would be for me to sew them!  Right now they are $20 a pair, but if you sign up for their emails I'm 100% certain there will be a coupon code soon and I'll bet you can get them 30% off.

Ok, that's all for today.  Do y'all like to shop like this and stock up?  Any great deals I should know about??  Have a great weekend!

Christmas Shopping

The title of this post is a bit deceptive because, well, it's not really about buying gifts. I've just noticed that this is a great time of year to shop for clothes and snag some great deals! In the last two days, I've picked up a couple of my favorite items for a song!

During the warmer months, which lets face it in Texas means most of the year, I live in the J Crew 3 inch chino shorts. I picked up a fun pink pair (neon azalea to be precise) for only $19.50! Use code XOFACTORY for 30% off all orders at J Crew Factory.

I absolutely love the amazing Elsa Top by Lilly Pulitzer. It's universally flattering and can be worn with everything from shorts and sandals to a pencil skirt and heels. Unfortunately, it's normally pretty pricey. I was able to snag one today on Bloomingdales for $55 with free shipping!! That still may not sound cheap exactly, but trust me ladies, this is classic. I got it in this light purple, but its also available in a pink and an orange (but they didn't have my size, boo).

That's about all the shopping I can do right now with all the real Christmas shopping I need to do, but hopefully some of you can treat yourself to a little something too!

Spring Fasion Finds

In the midst of winter I am dreaming of spring.  I'm sure that a lot of you, like me, are doing a bit of online window shopping for all of the fun light dresses and sandals you'll be wearing in a couple of months.  Today though, I decided to do a little Spring shopping for my sweet baby boy.  I love dressing him up in longalls and smocking but I know come Spring and Summer we'll need a lot of cute comfy play clothes.  So, without further ado, a few of my favorite finds...

This precious romper is from Hanna Andersson.  Their clothes are so soft and comfy and come in the cutest bright colors.  Plus, I already bought some little sandals exactly like that for the Peanut!

These sweet little seersucker shorts are from mudpie baby.  They have a lot of cute boutique type styles and pretty affordable prices.  If you've never looked at their stuff you definitely should.  I couldn't resist the little crabs on these!

Aren't these just adorable?  These little tennis shoes are Eric Carle (of the Very Hungry Caterpillar) for Stride Rite.  Just precious!

This sweet little outfit, from Etsy seller amybailey4, can be monogrammed for no extra charge!  I think it's a nice alternative look to a jonjon and she has several other really cute patterns.

So mommies... any other great finds?

Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget

I don't know about the rest of you ladies out there, but I love fashion and I really love a great deal!  Some of my favorite places to shop are Target, Forever 21, Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack.  Don't get me wrong, I love Nordstrom, J Crew, Neimans, you name it... but as a mom, most of the time those aren't practical places to shop.  So, I'm always excited when I can find real fashion at more affordable prices.

A couple of my latest discount fashion finds were at Costco, no less!

Jeans for mommy!

And super cute Hannah Andersson PJ's for peanut!

Then just this morning I snapped up this cutie patootie little outfit on Zulily.

How about y'all?  Any great budget fashion finds lately?
